Expanding support for measurement technologies: Moveshelf's integration with Motek Medical
At Moveshelf, we believe that different measurement technologies best serve different use cases, and that supporting all of them is essential for our users to enable a wide range of movement analysis workflows. This ensures that our customers can freely choose the measurement technology that best fit their needs. Additionally, they can rely with confidence on Moveshelf, to securely store, and easily access, and visualize their measurements, regardless of the specific systems they chose. That’s why we work closely together with all manufacturers, and we continuously improve our integration with them. Today, we are proud to talk about our integration with Motek Medical.
Advanced integration with Motek’s systems
With our integration, Moveshelf supports the upload and automatic organization of all data coming from Motek’s systems, such as the CAREN, GRAIL or M-Gait. This includes kinematics, kinetics, EMG, force data, and metadata, processed and directly exported from Motek's softwares GOAT or D-Flow. Each trial is automatically recognized, paired with its synchronized video, and categorized under the correct session and condition. Also supplementary information, such as gait events, are automatically imported. All together, this guarantees that all relevant data is available in one place, organized clearly and efficiently.
A standout feature of this integration is Moveshelf’s capability to draw calibrated force vector overlays on videos measured by Motek’s systems, along the ability to choose which gait events are displayed. This functionality is especially valuable to our clinical users, offering them a visual representation of location and direction of ground reaction forces. It helps clinicians to understand how forces are distributed throughout a movement, and deviations in the resulting joint moments in e.g. normal walking. Moreover, it makes complex data intuitive and easier to explain to patients, students, or interdisciplinary team members. To achieve this, Moveshelf reads the calibration parameters for each camera, combining them with video data from different angles in the correct dimensions. Through our great collaboration on executive and technical support levels, we are able to continuously improve a seamless integration with Motek’s systems.

Customers spotlight for the integration of Motek’s systems into Moveshelf
Our integration with Motek’s systems is in use at leading healthcare institutions such as University Medical Center Groningen, Sint Maartenskliniek, and Maastricht University Medical Center+. Each of these centers also operate overground labs in parallel to their Motek systems, and these overground labs are also integrated into Moveshelf. This means that clinical personnel only needs to become familiar with one, uniform interface, regardless of which movement lab and which measurement system was used to record their patient’s movements. All this is integrated into their respective clinical IT environments, making movement analysis data accessible, with a single click from the electronic health record. All these specialized and leading healthcare institutions have relied on their integrated Motek systems through Moveshelf for many years, highlighting Moveshelfs role in advancing clinical care.
